About Métier Brewing Co.

Metier means “one’s calling,” and at Metier Brewing Company our calling is brewing damn good beer and building stronger community to inspire bigger dreams for all.

Great beer should be for everyone, and we don’t just mean the people drinking it. At MBC, we brew beer with everybody in mind: the suppliers who produce our ingredients, the brewers brewing, the staff who serve pints, and the broader community enjoying the beer.

MBC’s mission is borne of co-founders Todd and Rodney’s shared passion for great beer and spirited community.

At Metier Seattle in Capitol Hill, Todd has built a one of kind experience for cyclists at every level of the sport — a premium bicycle shop, training space and community hub steeped in the rich culture of cycling. Metier Racing & Coffee and Metier Brewing Company are separate businesses sharing values and Todd.

Throughout his career, Rodney has advocated for businesses to measure success through both profitability and civic responsibility. He is currently on sabbatical from Starbucks. He brewed his first beer with buddies over 30 years ago.

As beer enthusiasts, the MBC team is influenced by tradition, but not bound by it. We experiment with brews that are innovative and accessible. With our commitment to craft, we brew with intention and integrity, and we never compromise. From our award-winning Coconut Porter to our Trailblazer Pale Ale, there is an MBC beer for everyone (over 21, of course). Our taps are constantly changing, and our knowledgeable team is ready to connect with you, no matter where you are in your craft beer journey.

We believe that great beer, paired with dialogue, connection, and action, can strengthen our community. As one of the few black-owned breweries in the country, we know representation matters. From our kid-pet-and-event-friendly taproom in Woodinville’s Artisan Hill District, to the vendors and charities we partner with, to the artwork on our beer labels, we are expanding the craft beer space so more folks see themselves reflected here and feel welcomed. We hope MBC inspires others to continually stop and consider who is missing or not represented. At MBC, we aim to play our part in growing a nurturing and inclusive craft beer community.  Imagine MBC as My Beloved Community.
