Starting at 11:30 AM (which is pretty much NOW!), Chuckanut Brewery & Kitchen is hosting their 2nd Anniversary. While some of you may think, "yeah, so?", this would be a mistake given the amount of attention this small production brewery has gathered. Plus, with the heat index being low, and the sun resting over your heads, you can enjoy one of their many sandwiches and salads while enjoying a savory artisan lager.

But don't take our word for it, here is what Mari Kemper, wife and co-owner of Chuckanut has to say about their 2nd year in business.

Chuckanut Brewery & Kitchen will be celebrating its 2nd Anniversary on July 17, Saturday.Free  Live music will start with Laura Overstreet playing country blues at 5:30pm followed by The Groove Patrol from Spokane known for their funky blues, jazz, and world music, at 8pm. Chuckanut Brewery & Kitchen was awarded Small Brewpub of the Year 2009 by the largest, most prestigious craft beer competition in America, the Great American Beer Festival held in Denver, CO.

Chuckanut Brewery is known for its European style beers but more specifically its lagers. One of the few craft breweries in the U.S. making true lager beers Chuckanut beers are aged at lower temperatures than normal and for longer periods of time to create a smooth, clean beer. Chuckanut Kitchen is known for its house made dressings, sauces, and specials using local products and fresh ingredients. This summer Chuckanut Brewery & Kitchen is running the Locavore menu using local seasonal products which changes every 3 weeks as the growing season moves through summer.

After opening in July of 2008 the brewery reached its capacity for brewing by April 2009. Chuckanut will have 5 new double fermentation tanks delivered on July 5 which will more than double the capacity at the brewery. Chuckanut beers are only available in kegs at restaurants and bars in Bellingham and the Seattle area. The addition of the new fermentation tanks will allow the brewery to add new accounts who have been waiting to sell Chuckanut beer! –source, Chuckanut Brewery & Kitchen
