There is so much to love about summer on the West Coast, and Granville Island Brewing (GIB) offers up its king of the patio summer brew, Robson Street Hefeweizen, as one of those things. This award-winning, unfiltered wheat ale is a refreshing accompaniment to a hot day or a rich, spicy meal.

“Robson Street Hefeweizen is brewed with special Bavarian yeast and a generous helping of malted wheat and German hops,” says Granville Island Brewing brewmaster, Vern Lambourne. “It’s a light and refreshing beer that’s perfect for the West Coast lifestyle. It also has subtle clove and banana flavours and aromas balanced by a high carbonation factor that lightens up creamy dishes and of course, pairs excellently with summer sun.”

Rich, creamy foods melt in your mouth thanks to the slight tartness of Robson Street Hefeweizen. Try it with grilled Weisswurst sausages or buttery potato pancakes. The sweet fruit flavours of this ale also counteract the fieriness of a bold Thai curry and the omnipresent carbonated bubbles cut through the heaviness of the coconut milk easily. Adding a touch of lemon to your glass of Robson Street Hefeweizen will also up the flavour ante on delicate fish dishes, such as poached halibut or bass.

To celebrate the return of the summer patio season, GIB is offering its social media followers a chance to join them for an exclusive patio party in partnership with 99.3 CFOX. In addition, throughout the summer, GIB will also be helping those who suffer from “No Know Syndrome” discover their perfect GIB match. Find out if you’re a “Hefeweizen and Raspberry” fan or an “Amber and Pale Ale” connoisseur by scanning your smartphone over the QR codes on coasters that come with every tall glass of Robson Street Hefeweizen.
