Since last year, Breakside has been expanding their brewery footprint in Clackamas County. If you lack any knowledge about Breakside then you won't mind some light reading.

Breakside Brewery is a craft brewery producing exciting combinations of traditional and experimental beers, serving Oregon through wholesale accounts and their own brewpub in the Woodlawn Neighborhood of Portland, Ore. Sourcing locally and producing seasonally, Breakside owner Scott Lawrence is committed to supporting the community and expanding palates with a fresh approach to the industry, investing in the talent of a seasoned team. Brewmaster Ben Edmunds works with local chefs and fellow brewers to foster a culture of collaboration, while also setting the standard for innovation and creativity. Finding unique sources of inspiration, he incorporates uncommon brewing ingredients at the peak of their freshness and flavor in his own brews. The brewery is currently set to debut an expanded brew house in Milwaukie, Ore. late 2012 allowing creation of Breakside’s avant-garde beers at a higher volume. Breakside Brewery is located at 820 NE Dekum St.; Portland, Ore. and is open for lunch, dinner and happy hour

”hearty, malt-forward winter ale that has a big rich body and a crisp, drying finish. the perfect winter sipper for the darkest days of the year. 7.8%”
  • Safe Word Triple India Pale Ale via The Red Hot, Bambino's, & The Pine Box
”how do you end a year in which you’ve made 100 different beers? a hoppy behemoth that used over 7 pounds of hops per barrel of beer, got two separate dry hop additions, and clocks in at over 11% alcohol. you need to have a deeply masochistic streak to desire this much hoppiness in your beer. it is a bruising, tongue-scraping, agressive beer with more punch than anything we’ve ever made. 11.1%”
  • Bourbon Woody English OId Ale via The Red Hot, Bambino's, & Brouwer's Café
”the latest release from our barrel-aging program is a blend of two beers: it is 80% English old ale aged in Bourbon barrels for seven months and 20% freshly brewed English strong ale. the result is a complex strong beer with strong bourbon notes, a firm body, and a bright effervescence. 10%”
  • Woodlawn Pale Ale via Bambino's and Brouwer's Café
”golden IPA made with five different hops. intense grapefruit and dank notes with a crisp finish. 6.4%”
  • Irish Stout via Bambino's and The Pine Box
”award-winning dry stout. light bodied with high levels of roast and bitterness. 4.5%”

  • Float via Bambino's
  • Outerland India Pale Ale via Bambino's and Brouwer's Café
”the second in our series of one-off IPAs using new and innovative hopping techniques. this beer uses Citra and Newport hops in concert; the brewers did two separate cold dry hop additions to increase the beer’s rich, pineapple and tangerine-like hop flavor. 7%”
  • Noble Belgian Blonde via Brouwer's Café
”strong blonde ale fermented with one of our favorite farmhouse yeasts. big tropical notes of guava and apricot are matched with herbal hop flavors, notes of white pepper, and a very dry finish. 7.9%”
  • Oude Noire via The Pine Box
”It’s mischief that happens in this dark American farmhouse ale. We’ve combined a Belgian saison yeast, dark malts, rich oats, sweet orange peel, and citrusy American hops into this unlikely brew. Close your eyes and we bet you won’t even notice you’re drinking a dark brew.”

Those of you comparing the various locations would be interested to know that Bambino's (January 16th) is probably your best option, to sample as many of the Breakside beers being shipped up.
