Portland, OR – On the heels of winning Gold at the Oregon Beer Awards The Commons Brewery will be releasing Clarabelle on March 12th, 12pm at their brewery Tasting Room.

Clarabelle began as Maybelle, a barrel aged blonde farmhouse ale. It was then aged in Ransom Old Tom Gin barrels for one year before finishing in a stainless steel tank with a blend of Brettanomyces and 500 pounds of peaches from Baird Family Orchards. The result is a rich and aromatic farmhouse ale, with bold peach notes and a balancing floral character from the Brettanomyces and Gin barrels. Clarabelle is ready to drink now, as the deep fresh fruit character is woven delicately into the Brettanomyces profile, but can also be cellared for one year.

In February, Clarabelle was awarded Gold in the Fruit and Field Beer category at the Oregon Beer Awards, marking one of two gold medals The Commons earned at the awards. Clarabelle will be available in 330ml bottles for $8 each in limited quantities and will also be available on draft on the day of the release.

The Commons Brewery opened in December 2011 and crafts small batch, approachable and balanced beers inspired by European brewing tradition. The Tasting Room is located in the heart of Portland’s Central Eastside Industrial District at 630 SE Belmont Street and is open everyday from Noon to 10pm.
