After a year of anticipation, Melvin Brewing's news location opens in Bellingham.

Known for their dank, citrus, and awe-inspiring beers; Melvin Brewing company first garnered attention after medaling at the Great American Beer Festival. Located in Alpine, Wyoming, the brewery's brain-trust include a former-Washingtonian in Jeremy Tofte and it's co-owner Kirk McHale. Together the duo has shared their love of brewing, martial art films, and food through their Thai Me Up brewpub.

Today the brewery is happy to announce the latest venture, located at 2416 Meridian Street in Bellingham, Washington.

Nicknamed Melvingham, a tongue-in-cheek name for the city of Bellingham and Melvin Brewing, the newly-opened location features over 20 distinct draft beers, paired with a ridiculously thought out menu in the brewpub's kitchen.

Melvin features a modern rustic design with nods to their Kung Fu beginnings. Specific design elements include: 5,000 square foot open floor plan with floor to ceiling windows looking out upon the streetscape, 160 seats broken out by 13 high tops, 20 bar stool seats, and a mix of tables and booths with bench seating made for sharing. The second floor center of the space is home to the mash tun and kettle. The 7-barrel brewing system is alongside the kitchen for all to see brewing in process. The walls are adorned with original Melvin artwork showcasing event posters and labels.

Besides 2x4, Hubert, Melvin IPA, and Killer Bees; the brewpub will also provide options from their Rotational IIPA series including Asterik, Citradamus, Drunken Master and Lambda Lambda Lambda. In addition to this the brewery will also feature local breweries plus wine and Aperol Spritz.

On the food side, the kitchen is managed by Chef Drew Trepanier. Think brewpub, with items sourced locally and inspired by Melvin's Thai Me Up brewpub in Alpine (Wyoming). Some of the salivate-inspiring items include the Melvin Burger - made with Beef, Bacon, Egg, Shishito Pepper and Chili Mayo or their TMU Wings - made with Sweet & Spicy Chili Sauce.

Making your trip worth it, the brewery will offer Nightly Specials and select Happy Hour pints ($2), tulips ($5), Calamari ($6), Garlic Fries ($2), Pickle Chips ($5), Tortilla Soup ($4), Melvin Drunken Burger ($13), and Tofu Po Boy ($10). Happy Hour will run from 4 pm - 6 pm (all seatings) and then 10 pm - 11 pm (bar only).

Parents are welcome, with a kids menu that includes Goldfish Mac & Cheese, mini Flat Iron Steak, and Grilled Cheese.

About Melvin:
Melvin Brewing was founded in 2009 by Jeremy Tofte and Kirk McHale to fulfill their need to drink the biggest, most exciting West-Coast Style IPAs in Jackson, WY. Experimenting on a 30 gallon, then three-barrel brew house system, they developed the Melvin IPA and 2x4 Imperial IPA, which went on to win gold medals at the 2012 Great American Beer Festival, back-to-back Alpha King awards in 2012 and 2013, and a Gold Medal at the World Beer Cup. On the strength of these and other beer brands, Melvin Brewing was awarded the 2015 Small Brew Pub and Small Brew Pub Brewer of the year.

Melvin brewing now has more than 40 amazing beer recipes to its name, expanding its portfolio of hoppy beers and other styles, with brands or beer syles such as ChChCh-Cherry Bomb (Fruit Beer), Killer Bees (Honey Ale), Coffee Ruckus (Coffee Imperial Stout), Wu’Wit (Belgian Wit), Hey Zeus! (Mexican Lager).

In 2015, Melvin Brewing opened its production facility in Alpine, WY, brewing out of a new 30-barrel brew house. Kirk will keep manning the three-barrel system in the back of Jackson, Wyoming’s Thai Me Up Restaurant to keep creating some of the most exciting beers on the market today, while Dave Chichura will take over the larger scale production in Alpine.
