Boundary Bay Brewery competed with 641 other breweries from around the world at the 2010 World Beer Cup in Chicago earlier this April. The 2010 WBC is now the largest beer competition in the world with over 3,330 beers from 44 countries being judged. Among those world-class brews, three Boundary Bay Brewery beers were chosen as medal winners! The brewery was awarded a Silver medal for the Dunkles Bock in the German-Style Doppelbock/Eisbock category, a Bronze Medal for the Imperial IPA in the Imperial India Pale Ale category and a Bronze for the Cabin Fever in the Strong Ale category.

“It’s an absolute thrill to win these medals,” says Janet Lightner, General Manager of Boundary Bay Brewery. “They validate what we are doing in the brewing community while we continue to build strong relationships within our own local community here at home. It’s the strong connections and the support in our own community that give us the foundation to succeed on an international scale.” –source, Boundary Bay Brewery & Bistro

Owner and former Alpha King himself, Ed Bennett had this to say about the recognition

“We’ve always brewed beers we like to drink, so it’s exciting to compete at an international level against some of the best beers in the world.

We are honored to be recognized by our colleagues in the brewing industry with these three prestigious medals.” –source, Boundary Bay Brewery & Bistro
