Boise Brewing Company responds after receiving a Gold medal at this year's Great American Beer Festival.

Press Release

Boise, ID • October 8—Boise Brewing received a Gold medal at the 2019 Great American Beer Festival (GABF) competition. Presented by the Brewers Association, GABF is the largest commercial beer competition in the world and recognizes the most outstanding beers produced in the United States. The top three winners in the competition’s 107 beer-style categories were announced October 5th at the Great American Beer Festival awards ceremony held at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver, Colorado.

This is the 5th year in a row that Boise Brewing has received an award at the GABF - the longest active win streak in the state. Head brewer Lance Chavez says:

“If you would have told me when we opened that we’d win medals five years in a row, I would have said you were crazy. I am just very proud to be alongside the other breweries that took home Golds for Boise this year [Sockeye Brewing, Mad Swede Brewing, Boise Brewing].”

The 2019 GABF competition winners were selected by an international panel of 322 expert judges from 9,497 entries, received from 2,295 U.S. breweries, plus 113 Pro-Am and 70 Collaboration entries. “This year’s GABF competition was the largest and most competitive to date,” said Chris Swersey, competition manager, Great American Beer Festival. “The beers and talent were as impressive as ever, and we congratulate this year’s winners for their achievements in brewing.”
