Ashleigh Flynn and the Riveters

Americana

With what PopMatters describes as "tenacious swagger," critically acclaimed singer songwriter Ashleigh Flynn recently dialed up the volume and debuted an all-female rock band as a nod to the"Rosie the Riveter" archetype from WWII.

Ashleigh Flynn & The Riveters' inaugural LP hit the streets in 2018 featuring a sound that hearkens back to early Stones, ‘70s psychedelic country rock, and alternately charms like a Sunday afternoon front porch session. Since releasing on Flynn's label, Home Perm Records, the Oregon-based band has barnstormed the Western US - steadily building their audience and live sound along the way.

The Riveters released "Live from the Blue Moon" in June from an inspired performance at Oregon Country Fair, and are poised to continue honing their craft as a band of highly adept song assemblers who put on one hell of a show.

The band will take their unique brand of Americana back out on the road as COVID19 permits, having been invited to perform at High Sierra Music Festival 2022, among a host of others; and are currently recording their sophomore album with guitarist Nancy Luca (Bo Diddley, Mike Campbell) in the producer chair.

J. Graves

J. Graves is passionate dance-punk. Tense relationship rock, sanguine lyricism, guitar music, chord changes that sound like secret longing, a rhythm section that thuds, skitters, and melts over the determined voice of Jessa Graves. The heat of the cataclysm gives off a vapor known to galvanize meatspace into writhing, dancing heaps, creating rabid, loyal fans. Against all odds, J. Graves is back with a timely, haunting and reimagined single, LEAP YEAR II a strong return following their crushing new LP Fortress of Fun, a first of its kind, choose your own adventure record.

Nothing can substitute the experience of a live J. Graves show. ?With comparisons to Sleater-Kinney, Karen O, and Siouxsie And The Banshees, catching a J. Graves show became a goal for music denizens of the Northwest. Along her trajectory Graves annealed other talent with her drive and ideals. Kelly Cifton, perhaps the best bassist (and certainly the most exciting to watch), and the unassuming Aaron MacDonald, who would be a watchmaker --for his distinct timing and style, were he not a drummer.
?
You must be in front of the liquid rhythm section and pounding chords of the band to feel the blast. In performance Graves eyes roll furiously and her jawline sets as she contacts the emotion that produced her songs. She contorts herself around a fender slimline telecaster, and, in fits and starts, springs forth with contagious, inspiring performances.
