(Seattle, WA) For those of us that still call Aurora Avenue a great alternative to Interstate 5 you more than likely have seen the brown stubby bottle protruding out of a building near Greenlake. Started post Summer Solstice on the 26th of June 2006, Uber Tavern continues to be an enigma in North Seattle. If you took the time to pull off the road into a side street or a nearby curb you probably noticed their vast selection of non-standard beers either in bottles to go or on draft.

Another perk of this bar is that everything that you see including some listed only in their menu is available to go in one form or another. If you want a growler filled, they have theirs or they can fill one of yours. However though if you want a keg to go they do ask that you give them warning and if additional accessories are needed (such as a party pump or jockey box). And as always their bottled beers can be ‘brown bagged’ or drank right there at no additional charge.

Starting on Thursday with a tapping of an “incredibly rare” keg of JW Lee’s Harvest Ale, Uber will be opening its cellars to feature some awesome beers including a few that are as old as the bar itself. More details are below but I can say from personal experience Uber doesn’t disappoint when it hosts a party to celebrate itself.

“Next Friday, June 26th, Über Tavern will be 3 years old!
We figured we should celebrate in grand fashion, right?
OK, here goes.
One day just isn't enough for what we have in store, so we're going with 3 days to keep the "Big 3" theme rolling.

DAY 1: THURSDAY JUNE 25TH - tapping at 7pm (come early & get a seat)
We will tap an incredibly rare & stupendously tasty JW Lee's Lagavulin-Aged Vintage Harvest Ale, served directly out of the 80 year old wooden scotch cask it was aged in! (note: the cask is that old, not the scotch)

DAY 2: FRIDAY JUNE 26TH - tapping at 7pm (come early & get a seat)
Even more rare, and the first time such a cask has been in Washington, we'll tap round 2 of JW Lee's Vintage Harvest Ale, only this one has been aged in (and will be served directly out of) a Willoughby's Reserve Port 80 year old wooden cask.
Both Lee's kegs will be served in 4oz/$5 goblets. This is a tremendous deal on a beer that normally costs over $15 for a 9oz bottle..and in this case they are being served out of the "source" wooden kegs!
The masterpiece base beer is an 11.5% English Style Barleywine. Butterscotch-sweet and almost desert wine-like, the super-enriched scotch & port barrel-aged treatments create dramatic changes in their flavor & color profiles. There is nothing like them. These beers will blow you away.
...and just to make sure we are excessive...

DAY 3: SUNDAY JUNE 28TH - ALL TAPPED WHEN WE OPEN AT 3PM - A West Coast Trifecta!
3 different 3-year-aged vintage barleywines, JUST $3 EACH! (reg $4.50)
CA - 2006 Moylan's Old Blarney Barleywine
WA - 2006 Pike Old Bawdy Barleywine
OR - 2006 Rogue Old Crustacean Barleywine
That ought to do it, until year 4!
See you under the bar, very likely right at floor level. “
