With the thermometer close to bursting anyone that gave it a tap to make sure they weren't seeing things might have gotten mercury poisoning. Thursday is upon us and to most that means the start of the weekend (with a minor inconvenience called Friday work day). My house was so hot that the kitten was panting, the older cat looked more subdued than normal, and my wife kept drinking ice water like it was beer. Keep cool out there people.

OK, this one’s not in July, but hey… We’re closing the entire street, puttin’ up the stage, firing up the grills and cuttin’ loose. This will be a good old fashioned street party, replete with salmon burgers, brats, pulled pork barbecue, lots of liquid libations, and the party-time sounds of our friends The Quick & Easy Boys, along with a slew of other groups.
