Raise your hand if you find yourself asking a brewer or you yourself have been asked this question, "what's your favorite beer?". The safe answer is "Whatever is in my hand". Then again that sort of answer could be considered safe, as it wouldn’t disappoint anyone.

Instead we are speaking to those that are never satisfied with a 'safe' beer. We are talking to those that would rather say "sorry, I've already had North Coast Old Rasputin. What else you got?" Focusing on the Northwest we are disappointed to inform you only one made the cut, The Abyss from Deschutes Brewery. Ranked 15th overall, we are curious why one brewery from the Northwest made the cut.

But if you're one whose loyalty isn't to what's brewed in 'your backyard' then you'll have no problem finding most of these in the Northwest. In fact we have broken down the beers in case you wish to hunt them down.

One caveat that needs mentioned is that regrettably breweries like Russian River have recently pulled out of Washington state. So if you can't find R.R. where you are, you might have to make the trip to Portland.
