Beer Release: NW: Coming Soon … Full Sail Pub Series English Pale

Ask around the region and anyone will tell you that the sign of a great American-style brewery is their interpretation of a Pale Ale or India Pale Ale. In fact in some circles its downright annoying to walk into a brewery that features Red Ales, Ambers, Blondes, and Porters, but no IPA or Pale.

But appreciatively the people of the West Coast are reassured that for every missing American-style Pale Ale or India Pale Ale, there are three other breweries who will step up to the challenge.

Then again there are rare circumstances when you would rather your palate not be zamboni’d by a ton of hops. That’s where the English-style Pale or IPA come in. Answering the call Full Sail is bottling and kegging another of beer from their tasting room.

Dubbed the Pub Series, this release is an homage to where American breweries got their inspiration from. Think of it as recreating a classic, which is why they are releasing an English Pale

… is traditional copper ale with flavors of toast, light caramel and a mild hop finish. This new series features ales that had only previously been available at Full Sail’s Tasting Room & Pub.

“Summer in the Gorge might just be our favorite season because our pub deck, overlooking the mighty Columbia, provides the best view in town. Sailboarders and kiteboarders skip across the river using brightly colored sails, while whitecaps and mountains provide the backdrop for the perfect beer to raise a glass with friends. This thirst quenching pale ale is brewed with a blend of crystal and 2 row pale malts. Willamette and Golding hops provide a slightly fruity note to round out the light malty flavor,” said Jamie Emmerson, Full Sail Brewing’s Executive Brewmaster. English Pale is available in 6-packs and on draft for 90 days only from July to September when the next beer in the series will be released.  (ABV 5% IBU 30)
