KENT, Washington (December 2, 2014) – Only eighteen months after business partners Matt Barrett and James Watts took over the Central Oregon brewery, Silver Moon Brewing is positioned to expand sales of its craft beer line into Washington State. The Bend, Oregon brewery’s success has skyrocketed in short order; demand for its award-winning beers and small batch creativity has doubled production, and spurred the need for a larger brewing facility. The owners attribute much of that success to a partnership with Columbia Distributing.
“We’ve had tremendous momentum over the last six months,” said Matt Barrett, President and Co-Owner of Silver Moon Brewing. “Since purchasing the brewery in June of 2013, and partnering with Columbia Distributing in March of this year, our fan base has helped us to enjoy significant growth, while remaining true to our roots in specialty and barrel-aged crafts. This was made evident at this year's North American Beer Awards, where we received a Gold Medal for our Get Sum Pale Ale, and a Bronze Medal for our Nelson the Spacefish Rye IPA. We’re excited to bring our beers’ eclectic style into Washington.”
The medal-winning Get Sum Pale Ale will be one of a trio of core beers to lead the move into Washington, along with Hop Nob IPA, and VooDoo Dog India Session Red. The company plans to quickly follow with two other award winning beers, Snake Bite Porter, and Maui Wowie Double IPA. Distribution of both kegs and 22 ounce bottles begins immediately, with plans for 6 packs of cans to follow in the Summer of 2015.
