Surrey, BC – Central City Brewers + Distillers is celebrating LGBTQ+ pride as the exclusive cider sponsor of the Vancouver Pride Parade and Festival. The multi-year partnership will include onsite branding, sampling teams at events and on-site activations with Central City’s Hopping Mad Cider and Hopping Mad Cider Radler.

The Vancouver Pride Parade and Festival is a world-class event attracting close to a million participants annually and 2016 marks its 38th anniversary. Taking place Sunday, July 31st at Vancouver’s West End, it is the most visible LGBTQ+ event in Western Canada and the Parade boasts the fifth largest attendance among global Prides. Its prominence has made it possible to promote social issues faced by the LGBTQ+ community and ensure the dialogue for change continues to reflect ongoing challenges at home and abroad.

“We are excited to celebrate and support the LGBTQ2+ communities and be part of the Vancouver Pride Parade for the next few years as the official cider sponsor,” says Daniel Giraldo, Central City’s Marketing Manager. “Our Hopping Mad Apple Cider and Hopping Mad Cider Radler are the perfect summertime adult beverages to accompany the Festival.”

"Central City is one of BC’s foremost breweries and we welcome their support and involvement as the only Canadian craft brewery to sponsor the Vancouver Pride Parade," says Kieran Burgess, Managing Director at Vancouver Pride Society. "The parade has been so successful over the years that we added numerous signature events like the Pride Premiere on Thursday, July 21st at Celebrities Night Club presented in part by Hopping Mad, and the Davie Street Party on Friday, July 29th providing an open street promenade featuring local entertainment and vendors."

Central City’s Hopping Mad Dry Hopped Apple Cider (6.5% ABV, 355 ml cans) is a dry, sweet cider blending Yakima Valley hops and cold fermented from scratch, using fresh pressed apples from the Pacific Northwest, and a special yeast. The dry hopping process adds a nice hop aroma onto the dry, sweet cider, complementing the cider’s natural tart flavour.

The Hopping Mad Cider Radler (4.2% ABV, 473 ml cans) is a completely new style and the first ever Cider Radler released in Canada. It uses an off-dry premium apple cider and grapefruit juice to give a balance of tart and sweet notes, and a gluten free twist that’s perfect for summer.
