Reminder, McMenamins has two new hazy IPAs waiting for your judgement and another arriving in the coming days

It's mid-April and you know what means - more beer! That's right, while many of you weren't out visiting a nearby McMenamins, the brewery released a couple of new Hazy (sometimes called Juicy) IPAs.

Starting with Captain Neon's Hazy Mango Double IPA, the brewery is happy to release this beer with over 650 pounds of mango puree. Bet your nearby Whole Foods doesn't have that much Mango laying around! Included in this beer is a cornucopia of hops ranging from Amarillo and Citra to Mosaic and Chinook. The result is a beer that the brewery has summed as a "powerful medley of bold tropical fruit scents and flavors elevate this Double IPA to a higher plane".

For the beer geeks out there, here's the ingredient breakdown, while retaining the family recipe.

  • Malts: 2-Row, Wheat, Rolled Oats, Acidulated

  • Hops: Simcoe, Citra, Chinook, Mosaic

At 9.16% ABV and 65 IBU, this beer is in the can and on draft at your nearest McMenamins brewery.

Up next, the brewery snuck another beer into April, this past Friday, with the release of Lola's Hazy IPA.

Brewed in homage to our nation's first female police officer, Aurora "Lola" Greene Baldwin, the beer was made possible through the labors of The Pink Boots society - who strive to support and promote women in the brewing industry. So far the beer has inspired thoughts of berries and pine trees, namely in part through the use of Simcoe, Strata, Eukonot, and Pink Boots special blend of hopes (including Loral, Mosaic, Simcoe, Sabro, and Glacier). At 6% and 10 IBU, Lola's Hazy IPA will come across refreshing while still demanding your serious attention. Look for this beer on draft throughout the McMenamins brewery network.

For those who want to be in the know, the following ingredients were used to make this beer.

  • Malts: Premium 2-Row, Wheat, Rolled Oats

  • Hops: Simcoe, Strata, Ekuanot, Pink Boots Hop Blend (Loral, Mosaic, Simcoe, Sabro, Glacier)

Finally, McMenamins is happy to confirm their upcoming beer, Sabertooth Kush IPA. With a pending release date of April 20th, this juicy IPA should boast some of those familiar qualities you expect from this style. Upon its release, one can expect notes of citrus, berries and black pepper with a resinous almost wood-like quality. As for ingredients, the brewery is keeping this one top secret until the beer is released but one should anticipate a 6.84% reward if they make the trip to the brewery.
