Seattle's Stoup Brewing Company announces the upcoming release of (at least) six fresh-hopped beers.

If anyone said brewing was easy, then they've clearly never made a fresh-hop beer. Sometimes conceived the day of or day before a trip to hop fields of Yakima, fresh-hop ales and lagers are a truly unique bunch. For the brewers at Seattle's Stoup Brewing Company, there's something rewarding and fantasy-inspiring whenever they brew a fresh hop beer. Which is why they are excited to announce the upcoming release of beers, each featuring a fresh-cut pile of hops.

Letting the men and women of Stoup Brewing Company, here is what they have to say about fresh hops and fresh hop harvest.

“We're always excited about fresh hop season because it is a unique time of year that allows us to really connect with the farmers that are so integral to what we are doing year round,” said Brad Benson, Head Brewer of Stoup Brewing.

“We are spoiled here in the PNW being so close to the hop fields,” adds Robyn Schumacher, Brewer at Stoup Brewing. “It’s amazing to get to run out to the farms for hop pick-ups, say hello, then drive back to the brewery to brew that same day.”

“We’re really looking forward to our first pick-up of Chinook hops from Roy Farms in Yakima,” said Benson. “As well as Triumph hops from Sodbusters Farm in Oregon’s Willamette Valley. While we have brewed with Chinook, this will be our first Chinook fresh hop beer. And Triumph is a relativity new hop out of the public breeding program, and a first time fresh hop for us.”

“Of course, we are always grateful for our continuing relationships with the famers and farm workers who grow and harvest hops for us in Yakima at Loza Farm, Perrault Ranches, Loftus Ranches, and Carpenter Ranches,” adds Schumacher.

For 2019, the brewery has ambitiously sought to release at least six or so beers, ranging from your garden-variety India Pale Ale, Pale Ale, to something that even the brewers are keeping under wraps. Look for the following beers, with estimated release dates, to be available in crowlers or on draft at the taproom or throughout Seattle.

Centennial Fresh Hop IPA
