Seattle brewery Figurehead Brewing Company wins a Gold medal at this year's Great American Beer Festival
Nearly a week has passed since 2018’s Great American Beer Festival announced the winners of the GABF awards. Despite coming home with less hardware than in years past, the brewers of Washington didn’t come up completely short.
In fact, several breweries from the Puget Sound returned with medals, including Seattle’s Figurehead Brewing Company, winning Gold for their Belgian-style dark strong, Midwatch. For their part the crew at the brewery opined:
We're still in a bit of shock to receive a gold medal in just our second year, it really is a dream come true and a huge honor. Don't worry though, we're not going to just retire on a high note, we're going to continue to work hard to keep improving our craft and make even better beer.
Unfortunately, their award-winning Midwatch isn’t available in the taproom but they have assured all they will make an announcement, in the coming months, for those looking to enjoy an award-winning ale.
