Halfway through 2021, Deschutes Brewery announces their upcoming releases to whet your appetite.

Barely past the half-way marker of 2021 and already Bend’s Deschutes Brewery is looking to the future. Or maybe they are looking into the past. The present? Confused yet? They hope not.

Starting in August, Deschutes Brewery is pleased to share the Fresh Family, a series of hop-inspired beers to pair with National IPA Day.

Returning this Thursday, August 5th, National IPA Day grants you a valid excuse to support your favorite brewery, be they near or far, paired with a delicious India Pale Ale. Deschutes, naturally, hopes that you’ll choose to support the men and women from Deschutes.

August 5th marks National IPA Day and Deschutes’ Fresh Family has something for every hop lover from the juicy tropical notes of Squeezy Rider to the citrus flare of Fresh Squeezed and Fresh Haze to the Imperials Hazetron and Royal Fresh.

Following National IPA Day, Deschutes looks to the past with the release of Dissident Peach. Born The Dissident, this edition is aged with Oregon peach from Baird Family Orchards and aged in Deschutes oak barrel. If you’ve paired your previous editions of The Dissident with peaches, apricots, cheese and meat plates, then you’ll love Dissident Peach. But to whet your appetite, here are some tasting notes from the brewery.

An ode to the classic Oud Bruin, this new release reveals flavors including peaches and tannins with bright, pleasant acidity. Worthy of the name The Dissident.

At 10% ABV and 20 IBUs, keep your eyes peeled for 500ml bottles of Dissident Peach.

Keeping things in the present, well immediate present, the men and women of Deschutes Brewery look forward to another hop harvest, and another edition of Chasin’ Freshies.

Brewed to be an ode to the hop harvest, your usual Chasin’ Freshies Fresh Hop IPA is unique in its collaboration with Germany’s beloved Bitburger. Cutting to the quick, here’s what Deschutes had to say about their anticipated collaboration with Bitburger.

This October Chasin' Freshies will feature notes of melon, honey, orange, and passionfruit from Pacific Northwest fresh hops Triumph and Cashmere that will go from vine to kettle in a few short hours, with Bitburger signature proprietary hops Siegelhopfen & German Callista.

At 6.0% ABV, 50 IBUs and available in 12-ounce six-packs, Chasin’ Freshies should be consumed, well, fresh. Look for more information in a few weeks.

But while you wait for this year’s Chasin’ Freshies, why not enjoy another edition of Whiskey Butte? Brewed to be a Black Butte Porter, before being transferred into Whiskey barrels, this 9% ABV and 35 IBU Porter, has a few surprises.

This craft beer brings in the lovely oak character of the brewery's big strong barrel-aged beers at a very approachable strength and drinkability. Brushes of vanilla, bourbon and oak notes combine in a rich and bold porter.

Look for Whiskey Butte, as it’s lovingly known, this September, in 12-ounce singles and four-packs, wherever you find Deschutes Brewery beer.

Also in September, Deschutes Brewery ushers in their latest IPA Variety Pack with the inclusion of Grower Direct IPA.

A “farm-to-table focused IPA”, Growers Direct is a cooperation with CLS Farms of Yakima, Washington. More on this, from Deschutes Brewery.

With hops developed and grown on their farm, we partnered with them every step of the way from selection to recipe development for this delicious light and bright IPA with big hop character from Nugget, Centennial, Cashmere, El Dorado and Triumph hops.

Available in their 12-ounce, 12-pack, IPA Variety Pack, look Grower Direct IPA, included with Fresh Squeezed IPA, Fresh Haze, and Symphonic Chronic IPAs. At 7% and 50 IBU, this is one to seek out if you’ve enjoyed the Deschutes Brewery IPA catalog.

Finally, looking to the future, the brewers of Deschutes expect the return of Jubelale.

Details are scant but what the brewery can tell you is to expect a light, for Fall/Winter, ruby ale at 6.7% ABV and 65 IBU. With plans to be available in 12-ounce 6-packs both in bottles and cans, and draft, look for more as we get closer to September.

In the meantime, stay tuned, grab a fresh Deschutes Brewery beer and enjoy the last couple months of Summer.
