A passionate woman behind the wheel, Lynn Johnston has created memories for the past 64 years. As recently as 2023, one could spot her on the race track racing in her Chevrolet Chevelle or 350Z. But things turned for the worse, after a fate diagnosis in mid-2023. Diagnosed with leukemia in June 2023, Lynn wasn’t alone in her struggle.

A mother to two wonderful children, one a nurse at the local BC Women’s hospital and the other, established actor Tyler Johnson, has enjoyed every moment with her kids. And she isn’t taking this diagnosis sitting down. With the assistance of her son’s connections, a fundraising is in progress.

Tyler and through a chance meetup with Container Brewing Company’s owner, Dan Webster, struck up a unique conversation. The subject, naturally, was Tyler’s mother, and it turned out Dan had a connection, having lost his mother to a brain tumor. Originally, discussion was centered on a beer collaboration to expand awareness of Container Brewing to Tyler’s fans, but now it’s a fundraiser.

Released as Lynn’s Lite Lager, $1 from each can sold goes to support Lynn’s treatment. What’s more, over the weekend, Container Brewing hosted a fundraiser for Lynn Johnston, including a blood donation awareness drive. On hand, on June 16th, Canadian Blood Services hosted a booth where guests could schedule donations.

Lynn, who was in attendance, even had an opportunity to try the beer that bears her name and contributes a little to her future.

Today, the beer is available for purchase at the brewery. If you can’t make it to the brewery, Dan Webster and Tyler Johnston remind you to consider donating blood instead.
