speical thanks to Elliott Bay Brewing Co. for this head's up Seattle, WA – Hard to believe but another mid-year will have passed us by and with it much to be thankful for. If you live in West Seattle then you have another reason to be thankful, Elliott Bay Brewing’s Anniversary. Now in its 13th year, the brewery and public house, has been filling guts with great beer and good food since 1997 and this year they decided to do another special brew in Saison de la Chance.

“Each year we collaborate with a different brewer to come up with a unique recipe for our anniversary, celebrated during the week of the West Seattle Street Fair (a.k.a. Summerfest), July 5-11th.” –source, Elliott Bay Brewing Co.

If the label appears eye catching, it should given the number of icons associated with luck littered throughout.

Saison de la Chance was lovingly brewed not just by the staff at Elliott Bay but also with the assistance of former local Brewery legend Jason Parker (whose resume includes being the first brewer at Pike’s Western Avenue, founding employee at Fish Brewing, and worked at Redhook (Fremont) and Pyramid (Royal Brougham) when they started out in Seattle). Jason is retired now, and although he brewed a ‘few’ beers back then, it’s safe to say that this beer will be an excellent accentuation of his experience.

“The resulting beer is designed to be a genuine thirst quencher for those sunny summer days that MUST be just around the corner!” –source, Elliott Bay Brewing Co.

To those of you who might be salivating at this point, you can close your chops until around July (5th – 11th) as the brewery celebrates 13 years of business. For those of you curious here are the curious stats from this beer still in its infancy (brewed June 4th)

-ABV = 7.2 (currently)
