Port Moody brewery, Yellow Dog Brewery, voted this year's Heavyweight Champ at the Clover Valley Beer Festival

Press Release

August 10, 2019 (Cloverdale, BC): Clover Valley Beer Festival (CVBF), presented by The Property Twins has wrapped after 3 days of un-beer-leviable fun. A total of 2500 attendees attended the 2nd annual Main Event on Saturday August 10, 2019 at Bill Reid Millennium Amphitheatre, and tasted over 86 beers and ciders from 43 breweries.

“CVBF2019 was a huge success,” says Katrina Frew, Director of Festivals and Events, “We really want to thank the community for opening their arms to us, the breweries, our sponsors: Sammy J’s Grill & Bar, Westkey Graphics, Grimm’s Fine Foods, Country 107, The Cloverdale Reporter, CFOX, Signal Systems, Save on Foods, Cloverdale Rodeo, CLIF Bar, Elements Casino, Preston Mobility, and last, but certainly not least, our presenting sponsor The Property Twins for their overwhelming support. We couldn’t have done it without you.”

Reigning champions, Yellow Dog Brewery, was crowned Heavyweight Champ and 2019 Best in Fest Winner, as decided by token weight from sampling at the Main Event. They will be available on tap at Sammy J’s Grill & Bar, in Langley, starting October 2019 for a year. People’s choice as decided by onsite voting by festival-goers at the Preston Mobility booth went to a new brewery on the block, Camp Beer Co., which is expected to open early Fall. You will be able to enjoy their tasty brews at Hawthorne Beer Market & Bistro.

“We feel that it is more beneficial to offer the breweries draught lines as prizes instead of traditional trophies” says Frew, “as it is a win for not only the breweries, but for the establishments hosting, and for all the attendees and beer lovers in the area.”

Clover Valley Beer Festival, presented by The Property Twins, extended to three days with four peripheral events, and one main event. Hawthorne Beer Market & Bistro kicked off the festivities with a Limited Release Tap Launch on Thursday, August 8th featuring brews from Moody Ales, Main Street Brewing, Russell Brewing, Fuggles & Warlock, and more. Sammy J’s Grill & Bar in Langley kicked off the festival on Friday August 9th with the #CVBF2019 Official Kick Off Party, with live music by The Rollin’ Trainwreck, and on Saturday they hosted the signature Pregame Brunch, presented by Grimm’s Fine Foods, before the Main Event.

Festival organizers wish to thank all of the breweries who took part in the 2019 Clover Valley Beer Festival, presented by The Property Twins, as well as the sponsors, partner venues and community partners who made the festival possible.
