August 6, 2019, WHISTLER, BC – The Whistler Village Beer Festival (WVBF) is more than just the Main Event, and this year for the seventh anniversary they have expanded to seven-days of beer-fuelled fun, September 9 – 15, 2019. Over 30 peripheral events, ranging from tap takeovers to beer yoga to signature events such as Master Crafters, Axes & Ales, and Craft Cultures, will take place at partner venues throughout Whistler and beyond. The schedule has a mixture of classics, fan favourites, and new events that are sure to delight festival and beer lovers. 

“The Whistler community is very excited about WVBF this year and venues throughout the resort have crafted some truly unique programming.” Says Katrina Frew, Director of Festivals and Events, “We really do have something for everyone and we can guarantee this is going to be an incredible festival. You are most definitely going to want to attend all seven days.” 

The festival kicks off on Monday, September 9, 2019, with signature event Axes & Ales, a Function Junction block party. Attendees will channel their inner lumberjack and try their hand at axe throwing at Forged Axe Throwing before heading to Coast Mountain Brewing for a brew then closing out the party at Whistler Brewing Co. for beers, BBQ, and live music. Signature event Craft Cultures: Sea, Land, Sky will be returning for the second year, on Tuesday September 10, but this year it will be hosted at the Audain Art Museum. More details about this crafty evening, featuring mouth- watering bites, brews, live music, and entertainment, to be announced in the coming weeks. 

On Wednesday, September 11, 2019 the festival will continue with Tap Takeovers, Beer Trivia, Bingo, Beats, and Beers, and more throughout Whistler and Squamish. A fan favourite Sip & Stretch, presented by WVBF, Lululemon, Westin Whistler, and Gibbons Après Lager, will be taking place at Outlook Point at the Westin Resort & Spa, Whistler. Participants will sip on a brew during an hour-long yoga session taught by a Lululemon ambassador. Proceeds from this event will be donated to the BC Children’s Hospital.

While psychedelic outfits and party shirts are not technically required, they are highly encouraged. Master Crafters has sold out the last three years and festival organizers expect the same for this year. 

Saturday, September 14, is day 1 of the Main Event, and nothing will be able to prepare you more than a delicious Craft Beer Breaky at Stonesedge Kitchen, where assorted craft beers and Caesar’s will be featured. The WVBF Main Event takes place both Saturday and Sunday, from 12 PM – 5 PM, at Whistler Olympic Plaza, and features over 70 breweries and 140 varieties of craft beer and cider. There will be a variety of food trucks onsite, interactive games, axe throwing by Forged Axe Throwing, and live music. Tickets are still available but going fast!
